Third Lake commission reviews complete zoning ordinance draft, flags definition and table moves

The Village of Third Lake Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals met Nov. 12 and opened a line-by-line review of a complete draft zoning ordinance dated 10/29/24. Chair Jamie Reap presided as commissioners and staff identified multiple editorial issues and proposed substantive clarifications to Chapter 32.
Mayor Rodney Buckley and several commissioners recommended consolidating definitions and re-ordering zoning tables to improve readability and reduce cross-reference errors. Commissioners asked that Sec. 32-208 and Sec. 32-438 definitions be moved into the general definitions section; they also proposed moving Table 5 so that Tables 2–5 appear consecutively. Mayor Buckley said the draft under review is the "complete draft dated 10/29/24." The commission agreed to send a consolidated list of edits to the village consultant for revision.
