Mayor, commissioners seek clearer language in Third Lake environmental rules

At the Oct. 15 meeting, Mayor Rodney Buckley identified two targeted edits to Chapter 32, Article IV, Division 3 (Environmental Regulations). The suggested changes were to add the phrase "As defined by the Zoning Officer" to Sec. 32-143(b)(3) and to insert the word "unreasonably" into the second sentence of Sec. 32-144(d) before the word "impede."
Commissioners said the edits are intended to sharpen how the village interprets and enforces environmental standards in the zoning code. No formal vote on the ordinance language took place; staff was directed to draft clarified text and return it with consultant B. Hupp's input.
