The Village of Third Lake Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals met Oct. 15, 2024. Chairperson Jamie Reap called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; members Kemp, Klausner, Lizzo, Van Wie and Zeck were present. A motion to approve the minutes dated July 9, 2024, as amended by adding the phrase "non-registered watercraft" to bullet point 1 under unfinished business, carried by voice vote with all members voting aye.
The commission spent the remainder of the meeting on a proposed package of text amendments to Chapter 32 (Zoning Ordinance). Mayor Rodney Buckley and several commissioners flagged specific wording and definitional changes across environmental regulations, sign regulations, the nonconforming-lot provisions and the general definitions section. Commissioners asked staff to draft clarified language and to follow up with the village zoning consultant (B. Hupp) on multiple technical points before returning the edits for further review.
