Chief Communications Officer Sarah Marcus presented proposed revisions to Board Policy FL (Local) on student directory information, saying the updates would further define what constitutes directory information for school-related purposes and restrict release of that information to third-party requesters unless required by law or with parent permission.
Board members did not take final action at the May meeting; the district has scheduled the policy item for formal consideration at the next regular meeting in June. The proposal is presented as a privacy measure to control distribution of student names and basic directory data unless parents consent or a legal requirement mandates release.
