Councilmember Bray offered the resolution and Councilmember Sniffen seconded. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with AYES: Bray, Cioffi, Gomez, Ruane and Sniffen; Councilman Penta absent. The resolution specifies that a member of the community must be available during the party to move barriers in the event of an emergency.
The resolution puts responsibility on the Police Department to approve the closure logistics and detour signage. Residents organizing the event should coordinate with the police for final approval and barrier supervision ahead of the August date.
