The Waller Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously May 8 to authorize the issuance of unlimited-tax School Building Bonds, Series 2025, approved by voters in November 2024. Chief Financial Officer Audrey Ambridge told trustees the bonds will fund Warren Ranch High School, Larry D. Johnson Junior High, elementary schools Nos. 9 and 10, purchases of land for future sites and new buses.
Trustee Brittany Neel moved to approve the order authorizing issuance and Trustee Ronald Campbell seconded; the motion carried 7-0-0. The Board authorized the pricing officer to finalize terms including underwriter selection, amount, interest rate and price under the parameters approved at the meeting. The district did not state a final par amount at the public meeting; pricing and final sale details will be set by the district’s financing officers under the approved parameters.
The bonds stem from a November 2024 voter authorization; Ambridge framed the action as the next step to convert voter approval into financed projects. The Board’s approval allows staff to complete required procurement and sale procedures with the district’s financing team.
