During the work session the Select Board moved through a series of policy updates drawn from a staff-maintained spreadsheet. Staff said the fair-housing policy required only a small adjustment recommended by town council, and a licensing-and-fees consolidation (merging F2 into F1) will reduce duplication. A staff presenter said many changes are title updates and link modernizations rather than substantive policy changes.
Board members raised several operational questions. On snow removal and winter treatment, one member sought detail about the inserted word "treated," asking what chemicals would be used and whether they pose environmental risks to storm drains and waterways. "I don't know what treated means," a member said, asking staff to report back on what is being used and why. For special-events language, staff noted a forthcoming comprehensive events policy that will absorb gazebo and bandshell references; the draft replaces a 30‑day minutes filing requirement with a "timely manner" filing standard to match less‑frequent meeting cadences.
