Senior Planner Josh Cole presented REZN-3144 on behalf of applicant Paul LeBel, proposing to rezone a roughly 42-acre parcel inside the Urban Growth Boundary from A-1 (Agriculture-Forestry) to I-1 (Industrial) for light industrial uses. Cole noted proximity to Highway 160, nearby industrial users, and the Morristown Airport Industrial Park as rationale for the request.
"Due to the location of this property near Highway 160 and the nearby industrial uses along this corridor, staff recommended approval of this request and asked Planning Commission to forward it to County Commission," Josh Cole said. Vice-Chairman Jack Kennerly moved to approve the rezoning and forward it to County Commission; Commissioner Alpha Alexander seconded the motion.
The Planning Commission recorded a 9–0 vote in favor and forwarded REZN-3144 to County Commission for consideration.
