Director of Athletics and Personnel Todd Gulluscio told the board that outdoor AED stations have been installed at the baseball and softball fields and congratulated varsity teams for earning NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team status. He outlined a school-wide Day of Gratitude with grade-level off-campus service activities culminating in a whole-school outdoor luncheon and a visit from Kevin Eriksen, Coordinator for Disabled Services for the New York Yankees.
Gulluscio also reported that the "new warm pretzel machine is up and running" in the cafeteria and said there is a possibility the district could serve fresh, local fish on the menu, pending further steps. He added the district will offer free Summer School breakfast and lunch to Summer School participants and a low-cost option for non-Shelter Island students attending summer sessions.
