Shelter Island voters approved Proposition 2, permitting the district to expend up to $49,823.42 from the Project F.I.T. Capital Reserve Fund for roof reconstruction on the portion of the building known as the F.I.T. Center. The District Clerk announced the tally: "Yes 610 No 169 Total 779," and declared the proposition passed.
The proposition notes the funds are drawn from a reserve established May 17, 2011, and that the expenditure would not affect taxes. The Board later accepted the election results and discharged the inspectors of election.
