The District Clerk announced a tally of "Yes 424 No 319 Total 743," and declared the budget failed because the proposed 6.97% tax levy increase exceeds the statutory tax cap (2.13%) and therefore required 60% approval to pass.
The proposed budget for fiscal year 2025–2026 was $13,855,325. District officials noted the tax-levy increase percentage requires a supermajority under state rules; because the proposition did not reach the 60% threshold, the board will need to consider next steps under New York school-district budget procedures. The Board of Education accepted the results at the subsequent board meeting and discharged the inspectors of election.
