The Norwalk‑La Mirada Unified School District introduced Tanya Magana on June 8 as its new superintendent. Board leaders praised her two decades of educational experience and said they are confident Magana will guide the district through ongoing transitions and priorities.
Magana told the board, "I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the responsibility of serving as your superintendent of Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District." She said she will lead with "transparency, integrity, respect" and prioritized listening, collaboration and work to ensure schools have the resources and supports needed for student success. Trustees welcomed Magana and signaled close collaboration on implementation of district priorities this summer.
