Commissioners authorized the chairman Nov. 26 to sign Amendment No.1 to Barrow County’s FY25 transportation services agreement with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, which adds a provision that the county will cover transportation services for at least 90 days if state payments are delayed.
A staff presenter explained that language was added because the Georgia Department of Human Services has been experiencing payment delays. "It also states that once all funding is exhausted, Barrow County agrees to continue to provide and cover the individual transportation needs of the residents of our county," the presenter said. The board moved, seconded and approved the amendment by voice vote.
