At the Feb. 17 meeting the Darlington Community School District Board accepted two separate $250 donations. The first donation, $250 from Tim and Annette McGettigan, was designated for the DHS Music Department in memory of Richard (Dick) Olds; the board motion to accept the donation and thank the donors was made by Crist and seconded by Gratz and recorded as carried.
The board also accepted a $250 donation from Apple River State Bank derived from the bank’s debit-card rewards program to the DEMS Needy Student Activity Account; that motion, also moved by Crist and seconded by Gratz, carried. The minutes state thanks to the donors; they do not list any restrictions beyond the stated designations or provide information about how the funds will be distributed.
