Forebay Committee wins PARC funds for kiosk signs; trail counters denied

The Payson Forebay Committee on May 19 confirmed that a PARC Grant will fund a large kiosk sign and smaller interpretive signage for the Forebay trails, but the application for trail counters was not approved. Recreation Director Karl Teemant reported the decision and said “the grant money becomes available July 1st, 2026.”
Karl and committee members discussed next steps: Art Troyer volunteered to contact vendors and concrete contractors about kiosk installation; Karl said he would ask the City Council to roll over existing city funds to cover the gravel parking lot project if it is not finished before July 1. The committee asked Art to report back on kiosk progress at the July meeting.
