The Environmental Commission reviewed two memos related to non-residential Land Use approvals. Memo 1 recommends that the Township Committee institute an annual conditions-of-approval report, intended to review whether conditions attached to approvals are being implemented and maintained, with the resulting report distributed to the Township Committee, the Land Use Board and the Environmental Commission. The Commission amended the memo language (for example, striking language that would imply differing standards across properties) and approved transmittal to the Township Committee.
Memo 2 asks whether the Commission has the authority to review conditions attached to past non-residential approvals and whether liability could attach; because Commission funds cannot directly engage the Township Attorney, the Commission voted to transmit the memo and request that the Township Committee share the questions with the Township Attorney. Motion (Vince Gaeta) to transmit Memo 2 for attorney consideration was approved.
