Shelter Island reappoints housing board chair, adds two members; liaison changed to Elizabeth Hanley
Summary
The Town Board reappointed Brent Doherty Johnson as chair of the Community Housing Board through Jan. 31, 2031 and appointed Nadine Maley Veil and Matthew McCarthy to terms ending Jan. 31, 2029; the board also amended its organizational resolution to name Elizabeth Hanley as the secondary liaison to the CHB.
The Town Board reappointed Brent Doherty Johnson to the Community Housing Board for a term through Jan. 31, 2031 and designated him chairman of the board. The board also appointed Nadine Maley Veil and Matthew McCarthy to serve terms that expire Jan. 31, 2029; the McCarthy appointment drew one abstention from a member who missed his interview.
Separately, the board amended its organizational resolution (Res. 2026-51) to change the Community Housing Board secondary liaison from Margaret Larson to Elizabeth Hanley. The change followed reading of an email from CHB members asking that Hanley be named liaison so she can participate fully in CHB activities.
