Barrow County approves $44,580 participation for Finch Landing waterline project

Barrow County commissioners on Feb. 25 approved a waterline participation agreement with Finch Landing LLC to build a segment of waterline needed for a development.
Staff told the board the developer quantified the material and labor costs at "$99,000.64" and that Barrow County's participation share would be $44,580, funded from line item 507440154200 (WA055). Staff noted the county has $1,415,215 budgeted on that line and that paying the $44,580 would leave an available balance of approximately $1,370,615. The board approved the agreement by motion.
Board members asked whether the county could recoup the infrastructure contribution from adjacent parcels; staff said the county will charge a water service fee to recover the cost and will add the charge to the fee schedule next year. The board did not change the motion to add the reimbursement language; staff will pursue the fee schedule update as part of a future process.
