Greg Rooks told the Barrow County Planning Commission he seeks to split a track of family land at 0 Kennedy Sales Road to give parcels to his two daughters. Rooks said one daughter already has plans for a house that meets county minimums; he asked whether a smaller 1,600-sq.-ft. option might be possible but indicated he would accept the 2,000-sq.-ft. standard if required.
Staff explained R1 setbacks and minimum heated area rules; commissioners recommended approval of the rezone with staff conditions and forwarded the matter to the county commission for final action on Feb. 11.
