Later the chair asked the board to make Kyle Thompson an ex officio member of the Keep Barrow Beautiful Board, citing Mr. Thompson’s four years of service and regular participation. The county clerk reviewed the group's bylaws and reported nothing that would prohibit an ex officio member; the board voted to appoint Mr. Thompson.
Board members praised Mr. Thompson’s volunteer work and noted staff and the board would coordinate any needed bylaw amendments as a separate administrative matter.
