Green Team eyes Shabbecong Creek corridor plan to boost grant eligibility and reduce flood risk

The group said a consultant could be hired to prepare a plan that includes Washington Township, aligns with the Land Use Board Master Plan, and outlines implementation strategies to secure grants and guide improvements along Route 57.
Members emphasized that the plan should involve the local community and the Land Use Board to ensure consistency with the Master Plan. Brian Bond noted the Borough of Washington is a Silver member of the Musconetcong Watershed Association, which makes the borough eligible for certain grants through that organization.
