Palo Alto County supervisors approve routine business, grants and drainage payments

The Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved routine business on Aug. 4, 2026, including the meeting agenda and the minutes of July 28, and accepted the Veterans Affairs monthly report for July 31.
Board members recorded the votes as Ayes: Faulstick, Merrill, Graettinger, Wirtz and Solberg; there were no nays or abstentions. The meeting record shows motions and seconders for each approval.
The board approved septic grant applications for the Eileen Rouse Estate and for Joshua Kibbie. It also approved Pay Estimate #1 to B&B Farm Drainage for $162,440.55 for work on Drainage District No. 69, and two pay estimates to LeRoy & Sons Inc. under an IDALS-funded project for Drainage District 923: Pay Estimate #1 for $191,432.17 and Pay Estimate #2 for $27,185.07.
Separately, the board voted to provide a letter of support for Wells Ag Supply's FIELDS grant application for a proposed $30 million fertilizer plant near Emmetsburg; Wells Ag Supply's representative said the companycurrently operates a facility in Fonda.
The meeting concluded with a joint completion hearing action (detailed separately) and adjournment.
