Todd Hauber, the district Business Administrator, walked trustees through eight bills with structural fiscal implications. He said SB321’s change to the certified tax-rate calculation "results in a shift to a 2-year period which equals a $14 M loss for Granite over the next 3 years." Staff showed charts estimating impacts on various programs.
Hauber and Superintendent Ben Horsley also reviewed bills affecting property tax diversion, TSSA growth, tax elections, and limits on building authority financing. The board recorded the update for informational purposes and noted some bills will proceed to interim study or failed in committee.
