The Barrow County Board of Commissioners approved four resolutions the county's tax commissioner described as routine measures to support day-to-day operations.
Tax Commissioner Garrett told the board the package includes authorization to accept payments other than cash — "checks, cards, debit" — a resolution to allow her office to correct clerical errors caused by the tax assessor or the tax commissioner's office, authorization to use an attorney to process judicial tax sales, and a resolution allowing adjustments for interest and penalties resulting from clerical errors. The county manager introduced the item as new business 7a and noted Garrett was present to answer questions. Commissioner (District 1) moved to approve; District 5 seconded and the chair called the voice vote, which the chair declared carried.
The resolutions were presented as operational housekeeping rather than policy changes; the board offered no substantive amendments and took no follow-up direction beyond authorizing the chair to execute the necessary documents.
