Trustees approve required nonreemployment resolutions, job description and CEQA exemption filing

At the May 5 meeting trustees approved two required personnel resolutions to begin notification of potentially nonreemployed certificated and classified employees for the 202526 year. District staff said the certificated reduction totaled 30.4 full-time equivalent positions with a small number of final reductions still to be noticed; the classified reduction reflected 12.875 FTE reductions, though most affected staff were placed into positions for the coming school year.
The board also approved the second reading and final version of a certificated job description for "Teacher on Special Assignment (EL/DLI/assessments/data)," adopting staff edits requested after the first reading. Finally, trustees voted to file a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) notice of exemption for the Loma Verde Elementary mini-pitch project; staff described the lighting plan (fixtures under 25 feet, omnidirectional and limited to the field) and said filing would start a 35-day period for potential challenges.
All three items were approved in roll-call votes recorded in the minutes.
