Dr. Patrick Sasson presented Lake Forest High School's graduate destinations and numbers, reporting that "last year, our students attended 134 colleges" and "this year that dipped to 124." He said Illinois typically is the number-one destination and gave a yield example: "147 Lake Forest seniors ... applied to the University of Illinois, and 20 students decided to go. That's a 14% yield rate," illustrating yield pressures colleges face.
Sasson also summarized that 336 of 345 reporting graduates were attending two- or four-year colleges and that the school continues to broaden supports for students pursuing gap years, military service and workforce entry. He emphasized counselors' role in connecting students with varied postsecondary pathways and noted that counselors remain a widely used resource in the students' senior exit survey.
