Hepburn provided district context — about 236,000 students, roughly 325 schools (including charters), and a 97.5% graduation rate — and said the referendum's revenue would largely support supplemental teacher compensation, school resource officers and mental‑health staff.
Hepburn told the council the ballot language estimates Broward would collect about $358 million over the referenced years and offered homeowner cost examples (about $418 per year for a single‑family home; $230 for a condominium) as illustrations of the levy’s local impact.
