Board unanimously names Sinaloa Middle School redwood grove for former principal Rich Gerhardt

Linda Kislingbury, who lives nearby, recounted planting and watching the trees grow with Gerhardt and said she and her husband would pay for a permanent plaque: "My husband and I are gonna pay for it, so it's not coming out of any budget." Assistant Principal John Mattern expressed school support for the idea and trustees praised Gerhardt's service. Trustee Butler moved the measure, Trustee Mack seconded, and the board approved the naming by voice vote (7‑0).
The presenter noted facilities staff will assist with installation and that any minor installation costs would be coordinated with the donor. No district funds were requested for the plaque.
