"I'm urging the board this morning to reconsider raising sub pay by $600. I find it very hard to believe they found the means to pay sub $600 but the district has only offered 2.2% and a minimal increase to health benefits for your hardworking and dedicated staff," Vaccaro said. He called for renewed, meaningful negotiations with the Natomas Teachers Association (NTA) rather than unilateral pay changes that could undercut bargaining leverage.
