Lowcountry Food Bank scales distributions, prepositions hurricane supplies

Nick Osborne of the Lowcountry Food Bank told the committee the food bank has 16 scheduled distributions this month and is prepositioning hurricane resources with 12 partner agencies across 10 coastal counties to speed response to weather-related disruptions.
"Please, if you know of anyone that needs assistance, we have a great resource on our website, lowcountryfoodbank.org, where you can easily find options for where you can find food," Osborne said. He said partners are staging supplies now so they can respond immediately to storms and other disasters, and that a distribution will take place at the Colosseum this weekend.
Osborne also said the organization plans to hold a Walk for Hunger in September to correspond with Hunger Action Month and will share a flyer for committee circulation.
