Parents warn of double-digit declines at some schools; trustees seek targeted data

"When students are this far behind, incremental gains are not enough," she said, and urged the board to prioritize immediate, targeted support for the lowest-performing schools.
Trustees responded by asking staff for deeper site- and grade-level breakdowns, more frequent intra-year testing reports, and analyses that separate outcomes for students who were continuously enrolled versus those who entered or left the district during the year. District research staff said an early-warning dashboard exists and that they will provide follow-up presentations with more granular data and examples of interventions such as newly added intervention classes.
Trustees and staff framed the request as an operational priority rather than a policy vote at this meeting: staff committed to returning with more detailed diagnostics and suggested next steps for resource allocation to support affected campuses.
