"This is not something I want to do. This is something I think we have to do," the chair said before moving the resolution. Trustee Moore moved approval; Trustee Dasek seconded. Helene conducted the roll-call vote, and trustees Dasek, Grant, Hardin, Meta and Mora voted aye. The chair announced, "Motion carries 5-0."
Several members of the public urged the board to prioritize contract settlement and raised concerns about timing and staffing. The board did not amend the resolution during the meeting and took the formal vote following brief trustee discussion focused on keeping schools open for students. The special meeting adjourned at 7:41 a.m.
