Powder Magazine opens under Special Facilities; combo ticket introduced to boost visits

Romaine, a Special Facilities staff member, told the committee the Powder Magazine became part of Special Facilities on June 22 and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. "In the month of July, the powder magazine, we did 1,071 paid visitors, which was a strong start for our city management group," Romaine said.
Staff created a $26 combo ticket that admits an adult to the Powder Magazine, the Old Slave Market and the Old Exchange; individual admission prices are $8 for the Powder Magazine, $8 for the Old Slave Market and $16 for the Old Exchange. Romaine said advertising and coverage (including local media) helped drive attendance and that the building's gift shop also performed well. Tony Yeoman will provide additional combo-ticket data to staff.
