Board approves temporary construction easement to repair deteriorated box culvert on 288th Avenue

Public-works staff presented a temporary construction easement to the board for a box culvert repair on 288th Avenue and recommended the chair sign the agreement.
Staff explained the culvert is severely deteriorated and sits in a steep hole with substantial fill above it; because the culvert is below grade the county must access adjacent private property to reach the structure for in-place repairs. According to staff, the property owner has signed and notarized the temporary construction easement that allows county crews and the contractor onto the private parcel, and staff pledged to restore fencing and the site after work is complete.
A board member moved to approve the easement and authorize the chair's signature; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff said the work will be done this fall in a manner that keeps the road open and avoids tearing up the pavement.
"We will remove the fence. We will also put it back. We'll restore the area," staff said when describing the restoration commitments.
