The Kermit ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on March 18 to authorize Superintendent Oscar Muñiz to negotiate and execute a lease with the Michel Family Trust for eleven (11) units at Parkview Apartments, 200 S. East Avenue, Kermit. The district will serve as primary lessee and may sublease units to Kermit ISD teachers and other essential personnel. The board also authorized the superintendent to execute sub-lease agreements and related documents and approved mandatory payroll deductions to reimburse the district for rent at a rate of $850 per month for unrenovated units and $950 per month for renovated units.
Trustees adopted Resolution 26-0002 authorizing the lease arrangement and related administrative actions. The minutes record the approvals as unanimous among the five board members present. The measure was presented after executive-session deliberations related to a lease agreement with the Michel Family Trust and was taken in open session following the closed meeting.
