The Kermit ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on March 18 to approve multiple curriculum purchase orders recommended by Superintendent Oscar Muñiz and Kermit High School Principal Cecilia Hayes. The district authorized a $30,030.80 purchase order to Curriculum Associates/Ellevation for a districtwide ESL/bilingual program and additional Curriculum Associates purchases for K–8 reading and math intervention programs.
Board members also approved two purchases from the Texas Education Agency for Bluebonnet series materials: $35,680 for the Bluebonnet Series RLA (KES K–5) and $21,530 for Bluebonnet Series Math (KES K–8). The motions were made and seconded by trustees during the consent/presentations portion of the meeting and carried by unanimous vote of the five members present. The purchases were presented as instructional supports to expand literacy, math, and bilingual services across Kermit ISD.
