The Board of Trustees of Kermit ISD convened a public hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, in the board room at the administration building. Board President Lee Lentz-Edwards called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. and noted the notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act (Texas Government Code Chapter 551).
Principals from Kermit Elementary, Kermit Junior High and Kermit High School presented their campus report cards, covering the 2023–24 and 2024–25 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR). Ms. Cecilia Hayes presented the district report card. The record shows no members of the public spoke during the Citizens Forum or during the question period. Trustee Aaron Hardaway moved to adjourn at 7:13 p.m.; Trustee Miguel Urquidi seconded and the motion carried unanimously of the six members present. Trustee Edward Davila, Sr. was recorded as absent.
