Red Oak ISD elects officers: Petersen re-elected president; Knight and Porter fill VP and secretary posts

The Red Oak ISD Board of Trustees completed its election of board officers for the 2025–2026 term during the May 12 meeting. Melanie Petersen was nominated and elected Board President in a recorded vote of 6–0.
Johnny Knight was elected Vice President by a vote of 6–0 after nominations were made; Michelle Porter was elected Secretary by a vote of 6–0. Nominations, seconds and the vote totals are recorded in the minutes for each office. The board took no other action on officer positions following the votes.
The board's officer slate will guide the district through the coming school year until the next organizational meeting or as otherwise provided by board policy.
