A representative for Downtown Goshen Inc. asked the Goshen City Board of Public Safety on Aug. 6 to amend an earlier request and close Main Street between Lincoln and Clinton for the Oct. 2, 2026 First Friday event, plus reserve several parking spaces on West Flint Street and in front of 220 North Main. The board approved the amendment and then voted unanimously to authorize the street and parking closures.
The representative said the group wanted the Main Street closure from noon until 11 p.m. and that several on-street parking spaces would be held from midafternoon to 11 p.m. The board had no public objections and approved the motion after a board member moved and another seconded. The action was recorded as passed unanimously; the representative and board members noted that event coordination with other city departments would continue.
