The Rockport School Committee voted Jan. 8 to accept a tentative contract that the Rockport Educational Support Staff Association (RESA) ratified. Administration described the negotiations as collaborative and highlighted key elements of the agreement, including a revised salary grid that establishes a floor of $28 per hour for RESA unit members, updated evaluation forms for paraprofessionals, custodial/maintenance staff and administrative assistants, and language adjustments related to Workday and allowances.
Speaker 3, representing administration, thanked the negotiating team and named RESA leaders and members involved in the talks. The committee moved and seconded acceptance of the ratified contract and recorded a voice vote with three recorded "Aye" responses. The committee chair thanked administration and members for their work in negotiating the agreement.
The contract ratification will be incorporated into the FY26 personnel and salary schedule and administration said it would finalize implementation details in payroll and benefits processing.
