Parents and CAC members accuse district of shortchanging special education and blocking parent participation

Another parent said the district denied the existence of vacancies in writing despite on-the-ground evidence of substitutes filling special education classes and urged the board to be transparent about vacancy counts. A parent also alleged that district attorneys and staff provided inaccurate statements during a due-process hearing and formally requested an independent educational evaluation (IEE) for a child; the parent said she would submit documentation to the board.
