Officials also reviewed the alternative school plan prepared by Dr. Ford, including a student handbook and parent meetings to review expectations. Students will operate separately from the general student population with designated entrances and exits, limited hallway transitions, separate restrooms, and meals delivered to classrooms. Dr. McPherson said the district is working with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to secure a dedicated School Resource Officer for the alternative school and an additional SRO for the CTE program.
