The City of Weatherford Economic Development Board voted to extend city utilities to 2538 South Main to support a prospective Buttermilk Sky Pie site. Ashley Seiler, the city's director of economic development, described the request as "a small investment of roughly 100,000" to bring water, wastewater and electric service to the parcel and said the location is "primed for future retail growth."
Board members asked about the project's return on investment and the schedule for recouping costs through utility and impact fees. In response, a staff member identified in the meeting as Chad Marbit said he would supply detailed ROI estimates and noted that "the extension is gonna be designed in house and very possibly we could construct it in house too," which staff said could yield cost savings. The board moved and unanimously approved the extension.
