After convening in closed session to hear a Level Three parent grievance appeal, the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees reconvened in open session on July 14 and took final action on the matter. Trustee Grant DuBois moved to "deny the Level Three Parent Grievance Appeal and affirm the Level Two decision of administration," and to deny all requested remedies not previously granted by the administration. Trustee Stan Britton seconded the motion; the motion passed 4-0 with trustees Amy Hilton, Dr. Sherry Packer and Dr. Steve Albers recorded absent.
Board President Frank Conselman recognized on the record that the grievant failed to attend the Level Three hearing. The minutes list the timing of closed session beginning at 6:25 p.m. and the board returning to open session at 7:47 p.m., but they do not record the grievance's substantive facts or the administration's Level Two ruling. The board's action affirms the earlier administrative decision and denies additional remedies requested in the appeal.
