Resident Manette Bowman told the board she and neighbors have complained for more than a year about live bands at the Garage Bar and Grill that keep elderly residents and infants awake. Bowman said the town’s noise ordinance sets a 65‑decibel limit and that the bands are louder than that.
Supervisor Corcoran said he and Chief Gerald Cocozza have met with the bar owner and asked that bands be moved indoors. Chief Cocozza explained that noise readings are taken at the property line and that measurements can vary due to many factors; he said officers will post at the property line to try to resolve the problem. Councilman Zambito, who identified himself in the minutes as the building owner, said he has spoken with the bar owners and will do so again.
The minutes record the board’s assurance to Bowman that they are taking steps to address the complaints; no citation or fine is recorded in the minutes.
