Aldermen approve site plan for 25,200 sq ft building in Innovation Park at 815 Premier Drive

The Kearney Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance on second reading to accept the Innovation 4th Plat lots 3 and 4 site plan at 815 Premier Drive, which proposes a 25,200-square-foot building with three tenant spaces including an indoor training facility and health/wellness offices. Community development director David Pavlich presented the plan, describing planning and zoning’s unanimous recommendation and noting the building would connect into existing regional stormwater and road infrastructure in the Innovation development.

The mayor disclosed a potential conflict — his bank is providing financing and a principal of the project is a relative by marriage — and recused himself from discussion and voting. Pavlich explained storm sewer and detention tie-ins to the regional basin and said planning and zoning recommended approval. "Planning and zoning recommended unanimously that the site plan be approved," Pavlich said. The board voted to approve the ordinance on second reading; the mayor rejoined the meeting after the vote.
