Developer buys Phase 5 land; Kearney receives reimbursement check, official says

Kevin Pratt, speaking as fire chief and representing the Kearney Area Development Council, updated the board on recent land sales and development activity in the Kearney Development Center. He said construction started on a lot sold from Phase 4 and that CAM Technologies closed on the entire Phase 5 parcel (17 acres) in October. Pratt also said Lots 3 and 4 in Phase 4 sold in November to Preju Properties, which will host the Precision Athletics Sports Complex.
Pratt noted the council had an arrangement with the city to temporarily help with interest payments while lots were selling; he reported the development note for Phase 4 has been paid in full and presented a reimbursement check to the city.
Board members thanked Pratt for the update and acknowledged ongoing availability of lots in Phase 4 (Lots 1 and 2) and other available acreage in the development. Pratt’s remarks signaled the KDC is actively closing parcels and moving projects toward construction.
