Agency official (S3) described the parcel and the neighboring parcel as "gap properties" created in part by historical railroad right-of-way changes and said the city does not anticipate expansion in that area. "What we're trying to do is clean some of these properties up," the official said, noting the recommendation was intended to reduce maintenance obligations and clarify land ownership for the adjoining business property.
Committee member (S2) moved to approve and the commission approved the resolution by voice vote; no roll-call names were recorded. The action was presented as part of a series of similar cleanups that staff expects to bring forward to resolve several small right-of-way and alley irregularities.
The commission record shows the Board of Public Works recommended approval and that the property will be removed from city right-of-way holdings and transferred to the adjoining owner(s).
