The San Elizario Independent School District used its June 11 meeting to spotlight student and employee achievements across multiple campuses. Mr. Cesar Morales recognized Ann M. Garcia-Enriquez Middle School’s 8th grade Track and Field Conference Champions for 2024–25. Mr. Richard Salcido acknowledged finalists in the Do the Write Thing writing program and the top winners of the district STEM Tank event; Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez singled out Ms. Deborah Cortez for coordinating the STEM Tank event.
The board also recognized Career and Technical Education accomplishments, including students completing the Cosmetology Operator License and administrative/Microsoft Office certifications. Secondary students who placed in the Top 1% statewide on STAAR/EOC tests were recognized by Ms. Anna Alvarez, Mr. Richard Salcido and Mr. Troy Enriquez. Grounds Department staff and members of the Curriculum & Instruction team received district recognition, and Alfonso Borrego, Sr. Elementary School named Claudia Carrillo as Teacher of the Month and Vianey Trejo as Employee of the Month.
