Resident Clare Duran told the board that a prior codification removed a provision that had barred keeping livestock in village limits, and she urged trustees to restore a prohibition or define parameters for agricultural use. Duran said the missing section (3-1-10) once stated that no person shall keep livestock within the village except where property is zoned agricultural, and that neighboring towns adopted the same model wording.
"There is no longer anything prohibiting anybody from bringing in chickens, goats, horses anything," Duran said, and she told trustees that she had already purchased poultry in reliance on prior assurances. Trustees acknowledged the missing pages in their ordinance book and agreed they need to work with the village attorney to draft a clear rule set — including whether to apply limits town‑wide or only to properties officially rezoned to Ag 1.
